The 12"x 12" Super Saltillo tile are a variation of orange and yellow colored Mexican handmade tile with rounded edges.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A SALTILLO TILE:

They have sandy backs from sun drying before baking

They have chipped edges

They have lime pops (little craters)

They are not the same size

They are not all the same thickness

They are not all flat

They are not all square

They have occasional cracks on the surface

They have occasional animal prints

They are not all the same color

They are prone to alkali in the clay - to minimize problems they

must be properly sealed and kept sealed

These are not defects, just the beauty of a Saltillo tile

Used on floors and walls in a Spanish inspired style of installation.
